GTGR’s 1st Borehole
At the back of GTGR’s land, a borehole is dug 15 feet deep and cemented around all sides with a lock to ensure it lasts for years. This will help with the future irrigation of GTGR’s 2 acres of land.
Look at the School Now
The construction crew makes a lot of progress on the school. They finish 90% of the roof and continue to add layers of brick onto the walls of the teacher’s quarters.
3 FBO Women Retest
The final 3 FBO women retake the final exam with Edmond and pass! Now all 21 women have passed their final exam.
School Construction Starts Again
The final donation for the school comes in on October 23rd! Within the same week, the engineering company sent over materials to Sembehun Tabema for work to continue.
The FBO Women Take Final Exams
Since August, Edmond has been hosting theory classes every week with the FBO women to add to back up their practical knowledge. 21 FBO women take an oral final exam with their instructor, Edmond. 18 FBO women passed with 70% or higher and 3 will take review classes before a retest.
GTGR’s 1st Compost Pit
A compost pit is dug at the back of GTGR’s land to provide organic fertilizer in the future. It will be filled with green plant material, brown plant material, and manure from chickens, hogs, and sheep. This will be very important for future experiments testing whether compost can be a full (or partial) substitute for synthetic NPK fertilizer.
Women’s 4th Harvest
The FBO women harvest groundnuts and maize from the RHCI leased land and their 2-acre parcel of land. (40/25/35 split this time, before it’s usually 50/25/25, mention this earlier)
School is Coming Along
The engineering team and laborers finish the foundation and walls for the school, with the roof being the next step. Also, they complete half of the teacher's quarters by mid-July. The workers all leave the village to return later when funding is sufficient.
Women Supply the RHCI
The women harvest cucumbers and okra on the RHCI’s leased land. They supply the RHCI with 45 lbs of cucumbers and 18 lbs of okra.
Women Plant on Their Land Again
The FBO women plant groundnuts on their now 2-acre parcel of land.
Farm Maintenance
The FBO women replace seeds that didn’t germinate, distribute seeds amongst the women from last season, plant potato vines, and apply fertilizer to the RHCI’s leased land.

Back to School
The 29 children who were given school supplies in December 2021 needed supplies again, so GTGR provided the required items for the upcoming semester. Now they can continue school again!
